Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

• Account information. Name, phone number or email, city, and language preference, provided when you sign up or update your profile.
• Documents you upload. Identity documents (e.g. PAN, Aadhaar), financial documents (e.g. Form 16, bank statements), or registration certificates, when a booking's service requires them, including documents imported via DigiLocker, if you choose to connect that account.
• Booking and payment information. The service booked, schedule, amount paid, and payment status. Card and payment-instrument details are handled directly by our payment processor and are not stored on TAXSEV's own servers.
• Communications. Messages you send through the in-app chat with an expert or with our support team.
• Usage information. Basic technical data such as device/browser type and access timestamps, used for security and to keep the platform working reliably.

2. How we use this information

We use your information to:

• Match you with, and enable you to book, a verified expert for the service you've selected;
• Let the expert assigned to your booking access the specific documents needed to deliver that service;
• Process payments and payouts;
• Send booking, document-request, and account notifications;
• Respond to support requests and resolve disputes;
• Detect and prevent fraud or misuse of the platform; and
• Comply with applicable law, including tax and financial-recordkeeping obligations.

We do not use your documents or personal data for any purpose beyond delivering the service you've booked, unless you separately consent to it.

3. Who we share it with

We share your information only where necessary: with the expert assigned to your booking (limited to what's needed for that engagement); with our payment processor, to complete a transaction; with DigiLocker, if you choose to connect your account to import documents; and with law enforcement or regulators where required by law. We do not sell your personal data or documents to third parties, and we do not share them for advertising purposes.

4. Cookies

TAXSEV uses essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences (such as light/dark mode). We do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

5. Data retention

We retain your account and booking information for as long as your account is active, or as required by applicable law (for example, tax and financial-recordkeeping requirements), whichever is longer. You may request deletion of your account and data at any time, subject to information we're legally required to retain.

6. Data security

We use encryption in transit and at rest, and restrict access to your documents to the expert assigned to your booking and authorised platform personnel who need it to operate the service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices.

7. Your rights

As a Data Principal under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request erasure of your data (subject to our legal retention obligations), and withdraw any consent you've previously given. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer complete a service that depends on the data or document you've withdrawn consent for. 8. Children's privacy

TAXSEV is not directed at, and should not be used by, individuals under 18 years of age.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and for material changes we'll make a reasonable effort to notify you directly.
